Who Else Wants To Save Time At The Bank?
I love ATM machines. Whenever I need cash, my money is just a few clicks away. But there is one service on ATMs that a lot of people do not take advantage of:
Deposits. While about 90% of American households use ATMs to withdrawal money, only 29% take advantage of the deposit service at ATMs.
I do not know what it is. Something about putting cash or a check in an envelope and placing it in a machine gives some pause. What happens if the deposit money and someone destroys the ATM in order to steal the cash?
Another reason I think people do not take advantage of the ATM deposit service is that their money will not be available as quickly if you do your deposit with a good-looking teller.
When I lived out in Virginia, I took over being the church treasurer. The first thing I did was get an ATM card for the account so I could just drop the collection off Monday morning after it was counted. As I reported in an earlier post, USAA Bank is the only bank that allows you to scan your deposits and email them.
So if you want to save some time in your day, give the ATM a try with your next deposit.
